Becoming a member of SUAVE grants you the privilege of being able to participate in SUAVE projects and SUAVE courses, use SUAVE work space and equipment, fly on campus at designated flying sites, and gives priority access to any and all events we host with restricted attendance. Below is more information the requirements for becoming a member and some additional requirements for different opportunities we offer as a club.
General Membership Requirements
In order to be a member of SUAVE and have all of the privileges of a member, the following are required:
- Take EHS-4200 (available on Axess as an online course), and save a screenshot of the proof of completion
- Attend SUAVE Safety Training (see events calendar for details, typically two are offered at the beginning of each quarter)
- Fill out the membership application online form (requires Stanford account login) and receive a notice of approval
The following privileges for members require additional training:
- SUAVE quadcopters and fixed wings
- Flying at Lake Lag
- Laser cutter
- Foam cutter
- Spot Welder
